The answer to today’s Wordle is “WRIST”.
The word “Wrist” is a noun which refers to the joint connecting your hand to your arm. It can also refer to the corresponding part of an animal or the part of a garment covering that area. Examples of the word in use include, “She has a tattoo on the inside of her wrist,” and “This coat has a strap on each wrist allowing you to keep the cold out”.
According tothe Online Etymology Dictionary, the origin of “Wrist” is the Old English of the same name. The word also appears in other languages, including Old Norse (“rist”) and German (“rist”). The common root is “wer-” meaning to turn or bend. Something which the wrist has to do a lot.
