Why Does the iPhone 14 Still Have the Notch?

Why the iPhone 14 Still Comes With a Notch
Apple hasn’t officially stated why the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus have the notch, but the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have thenew Dynamic Island pill-shaped cutout. Since nobody knows for sure at this point, take what we say with a grain of salt.
We think Apple has made the Dynamic Island feature exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro lineup for two reasons. One, to entice buyers to get the more expensive iPhone Pro models. And two, to preserve its profit margin on the base iPhone models.
Most people who buy iPhones don’t choose the higher-end Pro models because they’re costlier and usually don’t offer any major upgrades other than more battery life, better camera hardware, and a bigger screen. So, buyers simply pick up whatever happens to be the most value-for-money iPhone they can buy. But in 2022, Apple wants to change that.
Alongside the Dynamic Island cutout, Apple has also made theA16 Bionic chip exclusive to the iPhone 14 Prolineup, further increasing the gap between the Pro and non-Pro models. And knowing Apple, this is probably not a one-off decision but rather something the company may continue to do from this point forward.
From Apple’s perspective, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are technically cheaper than the outgoing iPhone 13 Pro models because they cost the same as last year but still offer the new chip and design with the Dynamic Island cutout. So, to preserve its profit margin on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, Apple had to default to the notch and the A15 Bionic chip.

Some rumors say Apple will put the Dynamic Island cutout on all iPhone 15 models next year, so you may want to wait for that if you’re not willing to spend $999 for the iPhone 14 Pro.
