Google is making it even easier to use its Gemni AI platform on an iOS device. The search giant has just released a Google Gemini app on the App Store.

Another Way to Use AI

Previously, iOS users could only use Google’s AI through the main Google app or a browser. But the standalone option now provides quicker access to the technology.

In the app, you can have a voice conversation with Gemini Live. Along with being able to select a voice from 10 distinct options, you can also interrupt Gemini’s answer to ask questions or change the topic. It’s also available in more than 10 languages with more promised soon.

Students can ask a question about any subject and then receive tailored study plans. The chatbot can also provide custom guidance that adapts to your learning style and quizzes to test your knowledge. If you don’t know where to start, take a look at someinteresting ways to talk with Gemini Live. You can also use the app to access Imagen 3 to create images from a simple text description.

With the Gemini app you can also connect to other Google apps like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Calendar, and more.

The free app isavailable to download nowand can be used on both the iPhone and iPad.

While OpenAI was first with an AI chatbot,Gemini looks to be a strong ChatGPT competitor, especially for creative tasks.

Google is also expanding the AI for other parts of its empire tomake Gemini a personal shopperand tocontrol your smart home devices.

Gemini Can’t Match Upcoming Apple Intelligence and Siri Updates

Being able to quickly access Gemini on an iPhone is a great way to try out the AI. But there are some limitations, especially compared to the upcoming changes arriving with Apple Intelligence and Siri.

Apple’s iOS 18.2, which should officially arrive in December, provides ChatGPT access directly through Siri at any time. And improvements to Siri, landing in 2025 for Apple Intelligence, will bring broader system-wide control and the ability to understand what’s on the screen.
