To celebrate spooky season,Universal Studios Hollywoodtransforms on select evenings, giving guests quite the fright, withHalloween Horror Nights 2024kicking off on September 5th. It features eight terrifying haunted houses: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Insidious: The Further, The Weekend: Nightmare Trilogy,Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines, Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America, Dead Exposure: Death Valley, and A Quiet Place. The event also offersthemed food and beverage options that are available exclusively to Halloween Horror Nights guests.
Because of the nature of this event,Universal Studios Hollywood recommends that those under 13 do not attend,stating it may be too intense for young children. In fact, while many of the park’s rides remain open, the ones that are closed are specifically kids' rides, according to John Murdy, Creative Director for Universal Studios. “A lot of the rides are open, obviouslyJurassic World - The Rideand The Mummy. The only rides that aren’t open are the ones that would be specifically kid rides, like The Secret Life of Pets and Despicable Me,” Murdy explains.

While the Studio Lot Tour will remain open during this special event,it is reimagined for Halloween Horror Nights as the “Terror Tram”; the theme for 2024 is “Enter the Blumhouse.“On this adventure, guests will encounter terrifying Blumhouse characters who have taken over the Terror Tram. Face the murderous android M3GAN, The Grabber, and more. Expect moments from other modern Blumhouse classics like The Purge franchise,Happy Death Day, andFreaky, too.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potterwill also be open during Halloween Horror Nights, allowing guests to visit some of their favorite attractions, including Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
