Apple has confirmed that Netflix showing up in the Apple TV interface, as described below, was a bug and not an intended feature. While this function has since removed, the original article is below for archival purposes.

Netflix now lets you integrate its service on your Apple TV, allowing you to see its content directly on the home screen. However, it’s currently available to select accounts only.

See Your Netflix Favorite Shows and Movies in Continue Watching and Watchlist

Other streaming services, like YouTube and Disney+, have long allowed Apple TV to integrate their content. That means you may see recommendations from them appear on your screen’sWatchlistandExplore Channels & Appslist, and it allows you to easily get back to what you were last playing on theContinue Watchingmenu.

However, Netflix, despite its popularity, has long held off Apple from doing this—until now. According toFlatpanelsHD, some users received a prompt on Apple TV 4K asking if they wanted to connect Netflix to the Apple TV app. If you hitConnectand successfully add your Netflix account to the Apple TV, you can then see Netflix shows and movies on the home screen. You can also go to your Apple TV’s settings, findConnect to TV, and chooseNetflixto add your account.

Note that this is limited to Netflix Originals only, though, so licensed content won’t appear there. It’s also not yet widely available, with the integration reportedly available only to US Apple IDs. Even some US-based users are missing out on it, too, so it seems that this is a slow rollout instead of one massive feature drop for all users. Furthermore, it only works on the Apple TV box with tvOS. So, you cannot integrate Netflix with the Apple TV app on other devices, like smart TVs, iPads, and Android phones.

The streaming option is $9.99 monthly.
