Tribit StormBox Flow

The Tribit Stormbox Flow is a versatile choice that will please almost anyone, especially if you need a speaker for music during outdoor parties.

Excellent Sound Quality

When it comes to Bluetooth speakers, sound is everything. You’ll be happy to know that the Tribit StormBox Flow boasts impressively pleasant sound quality out of the box. That sound gets even better when you fine tune sound settings through the Tribit app, available foriPhoneandAndroid.

It delivers rich, well-balanced audio with crisp highs, satisfying lows and a very clear midrange. I found the vocals and dialogue to be crystal clear. You can crank the volume pretty high before you hear only minimal distortion. If you love big, boomy bass, you are in for a treat. The bass boost offers some heavy-duty thumping. The app can be useful for more fine-tuning, though it is lacking in features.

You can position the speaker to be either forward firing or upward, thanks to rubber feet on two sides of the device, but note that each will sound different depending on the kind of surface that is beneath it and how sounds bounce off of that surface. A solid surface will sound better than a padded surface, for instance.

Impressive Portability

The Tribit Stormbox Flow has a streamlined shape with pleasantly rounded edges, making it nice to interact with. The fact that it is also compact and lightweight makes it an ideal design for on-the-go music lovers. Slip it into your bag, pocket or backpack, and take your tunes with you anywhere.

The device has padded feet on two sides so that you can play your music firing forward or upward, adding to its versatility. It measures 2 inches x 3.75 x 2 inches.

Average Port Selection / Connectivity

While it doesn’t have an impressive array of ports, it only has USB-C for charging and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, offering excellent flexibility for all your audio needs, as long as you are using recent devices.

Unlike most Bluetooth speakers, there’s no protective cover over the USB-C port, to protect it from the elements, however. A 3.5mm AUX in would have been nice, but it’s not needed as this speaker is designed to simply offer a streamlined and simple speaker solution.

The control buttons are along the top edge if you have the speaker facing forward. Here you’ll find a power button, Bluetooth, sound volume, multifunction (for playback, calls, voice assistant), Equalizer, and TWS. The EQ button is for choosing sound modes like Tribit Default sound, XBass Off, XBass On, and an Audiobook setting. The TWS button allows stereo pairing with another StormBox Flow if you want to use “Party Mode”.

Amazing Battery Life

This device is aptly named as the music will Flow for a long time. This speaker has a 30-hour battery life, so it won’t need frequent recharging unless you are using it constantly. This run time makes it ideal for outdoor parties or extended listening sessions.

Naturally, this will vary if you crank up the volume for extended periods. Especially if you do so with heavy bass content, because the bass is indeed powerful.

Same Old Durability / Water Resistance

Speaking of outdoor use, it can also withstand the elements. The StormBox Flow is IP67 waterproof and shockproof, so you won’t need to cut the festivities short due to rain. The only caveat here is the aforementioned lack of a rubber cover for the USB-C port, which most competing models have, which is certainly a downside.

Should You Buy the Tribit StormBox Flow?

Is theTribit StormBox Flowworth purchasing? In this case, that is a resounding yes from me. The app, available for iOS and Android, isn’t as good as most competitors, and is lacking in features, but does the job and tweaks the sound to your liking. This, along with very minimal sound distortion at the highest volumes, are its only real flaws, which I consider to be minor.

Sound quality is outstanding, as is the 30-hour battery life, design and durable build which includes water resistance. It’s also nice to know that you can link two of these devices together in Party Mode for even better stereo sound. If you want a very simple speaker with great sound and amazing battery life, the Tribit StormBox Flow is the perfect choice. It impresses as a Bluetooth speaker for under $100.
