InThe First Descendant, some special boss fights, like the one against the Hanged Man, will give you specific rewards for your trouble. The Hanged Man is one of the Void Intercept Bossesand one of the highest-leveled normal bosses. This means it can be a fairly challenging fight, but luckily, there are some ways to mitigate that challenge.

These battles are the only way players canopen their Amorphous Materials, making them an essential part of the game. These are specifically boss-focused missions with both a time and death limit. How To Prepare For The Boss Fight
Weapons & Characters
The Hanged Man is tough mainly due to itshigh damageand ways of making it seem more impossible to defeat than other bosses you will have faced at this point. It is also not mandatory, but it may as well be to play this boss fight inmultiplayer inThe First Descendant, as trying toattempt it solo will be challenging.
Grind Hard Squadon YouTube shows that it is better to go in fully prepared than to try to attempt the fight without doing so. You will want to look for theTamer Machine Gun at the Abandoned Reconstruction Siteas a Rare drop. You will want to have a lot of extra damage modifications, including ones that deal toxic damage. You can also bring aScout Rifle for a specific phase of the fight.

you’re able to continue to grind for different versions of the Tamer to have multiple elemental advantages. Still, youwill want to look for Poison/Toxic Damage for this one if possible. It takes regularGeneral Rounds of Ammo, and you can see what the Level 1 stats look like in the table below:
303

100
624
1.6s
65m
350
Critical Damage
1.6x
The Hanged Man is weak toToxic Damage, so the more of it you have, the better.
For those playing for free,Ajax, Freyna, Viessa, and Bunnyare going to be the teammates to use, with Ajax focused on tanking hits so that the others can focus on DPS. If you haveunlocked other stronger characters, you can swap them for one of the ones listed above, although it would be wise to keep Freyna if possible. Pack as much electric resistance as possible, and look for aresistance of around 3100 for the fight.
How To Defeat The Hanged Man
Best Tips & Strategy
The main part that players struggle with in the Hanged Man boss fight is that there is analtar in the middle with four tubes that fill up slowly over time. When it is close to full, a player, ideally one of the fast DPS characters like Bunny or Viessa, must run in and grab the cube off the altar. Failing to do so will result in amassive, unavoidable attack, an instant kill move.
This happens for the first time around the8-minute mark, so keep an eye on the clock and retrieve the cube before that countdown finishes.
However, when you remove the cube, he will still enter a rage phase thatspews out electric damage and other attacks. The player making the run will need to be extra careful and create as much distance between them and the boss as possible. While in this mode, he will have a red beam attack, which means theother players can attack a piece in the mouth of the boss with a Scout Rifle. You will want to aim solely for this piece if you can.
Once the damage has beenreduced to 80% twice, you will want to return the cube to attack the boss normally, switching back to the Tamer if you switched away. Rinse and repeat until you have taken the Hanged Man Down and finished the fight. You will get some decent rewards and thechance to open your Amorphous Materials. This makes it quite a good fight to take on as long as you are appropriately prepared and leveled.
The last advice is tocoordinate with your team membersby finding a team of people you trust or playing with friends so that multiple people are not trying to perform the same moves. Keep an eye on the altar, and remember that teamwork is the best way to get past this fight inThe First Descendant.
