Summary
A star onThe Boyshas addressed their major character death during the season 4 finale, explaining what it was like and what their demise means for the show moving forward. InThe Boysseason 4 finale, the group is about to begin working with Victoria Neuman to help take down Homelander and keep her safe from his grasp. However, Butcher walks in, his heart hardened after Ryan accidentally killed Grace. Using new tentacle-like powers, he grabs Victoria and kills her, ripping her to shreds in the process.
Speaking withVarietyabout Victoria’s death inThe Boysseason 4 finale,Claudia Doumit explained how honored she was to get such a gory endto her character. The actor explained what it was like filming the sequence, while also revealing what it means for her daughter, Zoe, as the series continues. Check out what Doumit had to say below:

It was really shocking, but it was also really beautiful, and so well done. And most of all, it was a great death — that’s an honor in and of itself. I’m really happy to got a fun, twisted death, which is just such a great rite of passage for characters on this show. So I was really happy about it, which sounds like such an insane thing to say about being split in half.
I don’t know if I was in denial or hadn’t processed it yet, but it just felt like another day at work. I’m not new to being drenched in fake blood, or pretending that there’s some gruesome thing happening in front of me on the show. The only difference that day was that it wasmyfake blood and the gruesome thing happened to me.
It is truly, deeply such a heartbreaking moment, because all Victoria wants for her daughter is for her to have a life that was nothing like hers growing up. And Zoe, ultimately, ends up in the same place as her mother. It’s really tragic that she’s got these powers that were loosed upon her, she doesn’t have a parent, and she’s most likely going to end up in Red River, the same place her mom was in. It’s a really tragic, full circle ending to that story.
I hope that there is some for Zoe at the end of the tunnel. She’s been through so much and she’s just got braces, so life hard enough for her as a teenager. But I don’t know what will happen there.
It’s actually really funny, because from the moment I joined this show, I knew that she was going to die — not because I knew for sure, but I knew what show I was coming on to. I honestly thought it would be sooner. I would go into every season anticipating that Neuman would die. So I was pleasantly surprised, and I feel lucky, that I got to walk around in Neuman’s pantsuits and Louboutins for as long as I did.
What Victoria’s Death Means For The Boys Season 5
The Stakes Have Never Been Higher
Victoria’s death is going to have long-standing repercussions, not just for her daughter, but for the core characters as well. The Boysseason 4 endedwith the reveal that everything which transpired had been part of Sister Sage’s plan all along, the core team getting publicly accused of killing her alongside President-elect Bob Singer. This forced the team into hiding, however they were soon captured by Vought, with the exception of Starlight. This paints a grim image of what comes next, with the former Vice President-elect’s demise being the first domino for a larger fall.
The situation is also worsened by Butcher, who is now off in parts unknown with the Supe virus in tow. While it’s unclear what his next move is going to be,The Boysseason 5could see him usher in a Supe pandemic, something that could have been avoided had he not killed Victoria. With her gone, any protection the team could have had is now nullified, as everyone who could stop Homelander is now either dead like her, or captured like most of the team is.
Despite how hopeless things look right now, though,Starlight’s escape from Voughtmeans there’s still hope going intoThe Boys’ final season. However, with martial law declared and a variety of Supes now given more power than they’ve ever had before, season 5 is sure to be a difficult time for the entire team. With Victoria’s death ushering in a new age for the show, it remains to be seen how the team is going to get out of their current predicament in one piece.
