Marcus Leaving The Bear Would Ruin The Show

Nat Proves That Marcus Is Here To Stay

There is a scene inThe Bearseason 3 where newcomer Computer asks Nat about getting rid of Marcus. As a way to cut down on The Bear’s costs, Computer suggests that Marcus should be fired because he only makes about two dishes per night. Natalie’s angry response is the perfect antidote. She tells Computer thatif he tries to get rid of Marcus, she’ll murder him. In a sense, Natalie is saying exactly what the audience is thinking. After three seasons, it would be a betrayal to get rid of Marcus now, especially after the journey he’s been on.

Losing Marcus would be like the show losing a limb.

Marcus is far from being a main character like Carmy or Sydney, but he’s still an important piece ofThe Bear’sensemble. Though he makes mistakes, his heart is in the right place, and that makes him a perfect fit for the messy, intense atmosphere ofThe Bear’skitchen. Plus, audiences have grown to understand Marcuson a deeper level. His trip to Copenhagen showed how curious and driven he is. Furthermore, his dedication to creating new desserts is a sweet and satisfying storyline to watch. All in all, losing Marcus would be like the show losing a limb.

The Bear Loves Marcus As Much As Audiences Do

Marcus is played by actor and former musician, Lionel Boyce.

Ultimately, Natalie threatens Computer with violence because the people at The Bear love Marcus as much as viewers do. He is not only a necessary part of the team, but he is also a kind soul and an important voice in the kitchen. Thoughfiring Marcus would almost certainly give The Bear more money to function, the family they have created is much more important than profits. In the end, this small scene reflects some ofThe Bear’sbiggest themes. The sky may be falling, but family and friends are vital, and, in fact, may be the key to success.
