While Telegram allows users to upload custom sticker packs to the app, the process of creating a custom sticker has become a lot easier thanks to Telegram’s built-in Sticker Editor tool.
The tool lets you easily create stickers using your gallery or camera. Here’s what you need to know to use it.
Telegram Introduces Its Sticker Editor
Telegram announced the new feature on 31 July 2025 in a post on theTelegram blog. The feature is available to all users regardless of whether they have a Telegram Premium subscription.
The free tool allows you to cut out objects from your photos to create stickers, along with editing capabilities like adding text, adjusting image exposure, adding additional pre-made stickers, and drawing on the image.
While the platform previously allowed users toupload custom stickers to Telegram, the update streamlines the process and allows you to create sticker packs without ever leaving the app.
How to Create Your Own Custom Sticker on Telegram
It’s simple to get started with the new sticker tool. But make sure you’ve updated the app to its latest version.
The tool works similarly tocreating stickers on the WhatsApp app. To get started, open a chat, tap on theemoji iconto the left of the chat box, and switch to theStickerstab. You will see a+ iconthat allows you to add a new sticker.
You may need to grant Telegram access to your camera and gallery if you haven’t already. Then you can select an image from your camera roll.
Telegram will load the image. If you want to cut out the object to make a sticker, wait for theCut Out an Objectpopup to appear. Select this popup and then tap on the object you want to cut out.
Telegram will then place the object on a transparent background. From here you can add an outline, add text, and apply other edits by switching between the available tabs.
Once your sticker is ready, you can tap thecheckmark icon. You will then have the option to send the sticker or save it to a sticker set. You can also add it to your favorites.
When you tap send, your sticker will appear in the chat. You should note that the recipient is able to forward your stickers to other chats, so make sure not to use any personal images you wouldn’t want showing up elsewhere on Telegram.
And that’s all you need to do to start creating your own stickers on Telegram. Getting started creating unique sticker packs is now easier than ever.
