While no premiere date has been set yet forPeacemakerseason 2, it is expected to come out sometime after theSupermanmovie, which flies into theaters in 2025. One of the stars of the film is Frank Grillo, who is joining the DC Universe as Rick Flag Sr., and recently shared a new video (viaDCVerso) to give an update on his filming process.
Grillo, while showing off his impressive physique, also declares that he has a bone to pick with John Cena’s character, alluding to the pair having a confrontation in thePeacemakerseason 2 story. Flag Sr. will make his DC Universe debut intheCreature CommandosTV show, serving as the first animated outing for the DC Universe, before showing up inSupermanas his live-action counterpart.

How Rick Flag Sr. Fits Into Peacemaker Season 2
While the new DC Universe will be a fresh continuity, various elements fromthe DCEU movie timelineare being regarded as canon, particularly one of the major plot points inThe Suicide Squad. While the general audience may be new to Flag Sr., DC readers know him best as Rick Flag Jr.’s father, as his son was played by Joel Kinnaman inSuicide SquadandThe Suicide Squad. However, toward the end of the 2021 film, Peacemaker ends up killing Flag Jr., marking the end of Kinnaman’s run with the character.
When it was announced that Grillo was joiningPeacemakerseason 2, making itthe first crossover between DC Universe animation and live-action, it was made clear that it was to pick up on his son’s death.
