The two countries are in a Cold War during the events ofSpy x Family,and when a Westalian diplomat died in a car accident, the country suspected foul play from Ostania. Thus,the first goal of Operation Strix was for Twilight to create a familythat blends in with society. He took on a new alias: Loid Forger, a psychiatrist and family man. After shifting into this new identity, he headed to an orphanage and selected Anya as his child, who was elated to finally be chosen for adoption. However, he realized quickly that he needed a wife as well, since Eden Academy requested to meet both parents.
Loid was unsure how to accomplish this task, until he bumped into Yor one day at a tailor shop with Anya. Yor’s family were pestering her to hurry up and get married, so whenLoid presented the idea of a fake marriage, she was happy to go alongwith the plan. Loid explained that as a spy, he needed a wife for his latest mission, but he was careful not to divulge the sensitive details to Yor. She took no convincing, since having a spouse would benefit her too, and thus, the Forger Family was born. Eventually, they adopted a dog, Bond, and completed their happy family.

Loid helped Anya practice tough subjects in school and build friendships, because the next step of the plan was for her to become an Imperial Scholar.

Conversely, students who exhibit bad behavior receive Tonitrus Bolts, and once any child has accrued eight of these Bolts, they risk expulsion from Eden Academy. For the success of Operation Strix, Anya must do her best to earn eight Stella Stars before she receives eight Tonitrus Bolts.
