Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Boys season 4.
Summary
AtSan Diego Comic-Con,The Boysstar Valorie Curry explains why Firecracker sacrifices her own health to please Homelander (Antony Starr). Created by Eric Kripke, the hit Prime Video superhero satire returned for season 4 earlier this summer, introducing some new Supes into the mix. One of the most notable newcomers toThe Boysseason 4’s castis Curry as Firecracker, who eventually finds herself in Homelander’s inner circle. How she achieves this, however, is by taking harmful medication in order to provide him with breast milk.
In an interview withScreen Rantwhile attending SDCC, Curry goes into depth regarding Firecracker’s choices when it comes to currying favor with Vought’s most dangerous Supe. According to Curry, her character is willing to do whatever it takes to survive and get ahead, and she always has been. Check out her comment below:

“Yeah, she would do anything for Homeland, but also she’s great at intuiting what people need and she will give whoever’s in the room whatever they need in the moment to keep them on her side. She’s a survivor and I think that’s the way that she has always survived.
“And it’s funny, Colby and I joked that, I don’t know why Ashley didn’t think of this first. Yeah, that’s true. Why has nobody thought of this? It seems really obvious and it would’ve been a really easy way to get some control over this. A horrible man. But I think she’s done a lot of things and probably worse things. I mean, this is a woman who I think is like mud wrestled an alligator for cash at a bar. This is easy.”

What’s Next For Firecracker In The Boys Season 5?
Firecracker Is Heading Down A Dark Path
AsThe Boyshas made clear,Homelander has some serious mommy issues, and, ultimately, his biggest vice is his insatiable need to be loved and babied. He was essentially born in a lab and didn’t have a normal upbringing, making him crave a mother figure as an adult. InThe Boysseason 1, this figure was Madelyn Stillwell (Elizabeth Shue), and Firecracker has now come to occupy this role, at least to some degree.
Homelander’s biological father is Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy, who he comes face to face with once more inThe Boys' season 4 finale.

The Boysseason 5is set to wrap up the Prime Video series for good, and it certainly seems like a troubling path is ahead for Firecracker. Though her ability to produce breast milk may be good for her status in The Seven, the medication she’s taking does seem to quite literally be killing her. The season 4 finale sees Firecracker coughing repeatedly and generally looking quite sickly, suggesting she’ll have to make some challenging choices ahead.
The Boys: All 11 Supes In Homelander’s Army Explained
Homelander has established an official supe army in The Boys season 4 finale, and here is every supe who is on the team in the final montage.
As was seen inThe Boys' season 4 finale, Firecracker’s illness is actually making Homelander irritated with her. He has, after all, always despised weakness. Though the breast milk may have worked thus far, it’s clear thatFirecracker won’t be able to maintain this current course, and Homelander killing Stillwell suggests he wouldn’t be beyond doing the same to Curry’s character if she slips up. It’s not clear if Firecracker will be redeemed and switch sides inThe Boysseason 5, but it seems like her usefulness to Homelander will eventually come to an end.
