Predator vs. Black PantherCould Establish New Predator Lore
The Predator’s New Bone Mask Connects to Another Yautja Subspecies
As seen inPredator vs. Black Panther#1’sofficial cover art by Ken Lashley and Juan Fernandez,King T’Challa’s upcoming foe is sporting a terrifying hybrid mask of the Yautja’s traditional metal alloy and a large portion of bonethat has only been seen once before. InHulu’s original moviePrey, fans are introduced to a new “Feral Predator” that wears a mask made entirely of bone. Traditionally, Yautja decorate their armor with the bones of their strongest prey, but very rarely are they seen with the organic material composing a large portion of their mask.
If this upcoming Predator is like the Feral Predator, then Black Panther has got a world of hurt coming his way.Preyconcept artistMichael Vincentrevealed on X that the film’s titular alien hails from a subspecies that developed a culture unique from their counterparts. These hunters are hungry to prove their strength without the overdependence on their advanced weaponry. This preview’s Predator has clearly seen war before, even against its own species. Equipped with a robotic prosthetic and tattoo markings, another rarity of the Yautja, this Predator looks to have survived a revolution against its leader.

Black Panther Won’t Be Without Weapons of His Own
T’Challa Shows Off His Own Predator Armor
In a variant cover forPredator vs. Black Panther#1, also drawn by Ken Lashley, Black Panther appears to be fitted withsalvaged Predator armor infused with Wakandan vibranium technology. The Black Panther suit already comes with a slew of abilities that rival the Predators’ iconic tech. The suit can cloak its users and has lenses that can alter light just like a Yautja’s armor would; combined with its kinetic absorption ability and anti-metal claws, Black Panther won’t be a pushover for the alien hunter.
A spectacle of blood and butchery is a given when the King of Hunters faces off against the King of Wakanda.

King T’Challa has his work cut out for him, but his opponent had better not underestimate the power of a Black Panther. While the Yautja areintergalactically well-known predators, the Black Panthers are backed by the power of a god. Regardless of who walks away from the impending fight, a spectacle of blood and butchery is a given when the King of Hunters faces off against the King of Wakanda. Fans can expect to see the two summits of strength clash blade to blade whenPredator vs. Black Panther#1debuts on August 21 from Marvel Comics.
