The Plugable PT-STAND1 is a small and simple, yet extremely convenient stand designed to hold a variety of tech screens - and it does so very well. It uses a 360-degree rotating base that is well-weighted to help it stay in place along with two joints offering 180 degrees of movement each.
Plugable PT-STAND1
The Plugable PT-STAND1 is designed to hold phones and and tablets up to 12.9 inches, though it surprisingly manages to hold smaller laptops exceptionally well.
Small But Mighty
This is primarily intended for smartphones and tablets up to 12.9 inches, but as I’ve found, it even provides a convenient solution for holding other smaller devices like gaming handhelds and laptops like the MacBook Air 13.
Despite its impressive functionality, the PT-STAND1 is extremely affordable at just $25, making it an easy recommendation if you want one stand that can adapt to a variety of setups or a thoughtful gift that everyone can appreciate.

This stand offers a wide range of viewing angles and practical applications without taking up much desk space. Want to prop your phone up for a quick video call? Trying to draw something intricate on your iPad and need a stand that can hold the perfect angle? How about something that can swivel around allowing you to keep watching your favorite Netflix show on your tablet while you do chores around the kitchen? These are just some of the ways I’ve been using this stand for the past few months.
The PT-STAND1 starts as a mini metal pancake ready for you to unfold. Open it up and you’ll notice a few things.

The first is a circular cut out in its lower arm which can be used for cable management, though as most users will probably only be connecting one or two cables at most at any time to their phone or tablet, I imagine Plugable could have made this hole significantly smaller.
The entire stand is absent of any designs or text except for its base which has a white Plugable logo. I find myself turning this side of the base away from me, so it’s less visible.

Weighing 14.6 ounces, the stand is heavy enough to stay in place with even the largest of tablets. Even at more extreme viewing angles, the stand never feels like it’ll tip over. When rotated, the stand makes a clicky sound which I find oddly satisfying in a fidget toy-like sense.
A Laptop Stand Too?
Despite not being designed for such, I wanted to see how well this would work at holding my MacBook Air 13 - and to my surprise, it actually does the job.
Turns out this stand can also support holding smaller laptops - so long as I don’t try typing on it. When paired with an external mouse and keyboard, this proved to be a handy tool for creating a more ergonomic desk setup.

Should You Buy the Plugable PT-STAND1?
ThePlugable PT-STAND1offers a practical way for holding most your different tech devices. Similarly, with its excellent portability, if you move around a lot from room to room, or find yourself traveling and needing a solid workstation setup on the go, the PTStand1 fits the bill without weighing you down. Its versatility, combined with its affordability, makes this my favorite stand that I’ve tested to date.
