Despite his feeble appearance,Withers is undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters in the entirety ofBaldur’s Gate 3. Beyond his ability to help players change their class and respec their skills, the fact that he can resurrect dead party members should be enough for mostDungeons & Dragonsenthusiasts to question his real nature. Reversing death should be a difficult, complicated procedure so the fact that Withers is able to do it for a relatively cheap price is undoubtedly bizarre.
Baldur’s Gate 3heavily implies that Withers isfar more than just a zombie capable of reviving the dead. Several exchanges with fellow camp follower Arabella suggest that he’s much more than a corpse and one particular ending to the game sees him having a one-sided discussion with a painting of Myrkul, Bhaal, and Bane.
