You may want to time the cancellation of your Mint Mobile plan to be as close to the end of your current term as possible. Mint does not return any of the money you paid. Mint also advises that you cancel your subscription more than 24 hours before it’s set to renew. The only exception to this rule is if you are a new customer and cancel within seven days of setting up your account.
How to cancel your Mint Mobile service within the initial seven-day window
If, after dipping your toes in the Mint Mobile water, you decide it’s not for you, you have seven days to contact Mint and take advantage of its money-back guarantee. To seize this opportunity,fill out an online form, answer a few questions, and be a new Mint Mobile customer.
If you’re returning a phone you purchased through Mint Mobile, it needs to be returned in like-new condition with all the paperwork and accessories it shipped with (don’t worry about the SIM card). Mint refunds all your money when everything is approved, less shipping and handling fees, to your credit card, bank account, or PayPal.
Navigating the refund process can be cumbersome. Mint Mobile doesn’t automatically generate an email to let you know the refund request has been received. According to its customer support, the refund team doesn’t work on weekends, so be aware of that if your seven-day window ends on a weekend and you attempt to cancel Mint Mobile on a Friday.
Mint Mobile only processes refunds on purchases made through its website. You must process your refund through Amazon if you purchased something through its Amazon store.

How to delete your Mint Mobile account
You shouldn’t have to pay any more money to Mint Mobile if you follow the steps above. You’ll have a harder time if you want to delete your account and ensure that your personal and financial data isn’t left on Mint’s servers. There isn’t a button to press or a link to click to delete your Mint Mobile account. According to a Mint Mobile chat representative, there isn’t a mechanism for a user to request the deletion of their account.
Your account is placed in standby mode when you stop paying Mint Mobile and it stops supplying you with phone service. Mint Mobile saves your account data and holds your phone number for 60 days. According to Mint Mobile’s chat support, after those 60 days, your account data is deleted.
