What Happened In Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc Episode 2?
Produced By Production I.G; Directed By Akira Sato
Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcepisode #2, “The Terrifying Perfect Shredder Hell!!,” continued where episode #1 left off with Terryman declaring war on the Perfect Large Numbers. Terryman’s first opponent was Max Radial, the Perfect Chojin who brutally defeated Specialman and Canadianman who bore the moniker of Perfect Shredder, and with the other Justice Chojin still recovering from injuries they suffered at the end oftheKinnikumanmanga, a loss for Terryman meant the end of the world. At the same time, Akuma Shogun was seen observing everything, and even more mysteriously,Kinnikuman had suddenly disappeared from Planet Kinniku.
As Terryman and Max Radial’s fight got underway, Terryman initially used his swiftness and smaller size to his advantage, and he quickly got him with his signature Calf Branding technique, a knee drop to the back of the head that drove the opponent’s head into the mat. However, the massive size of Max Radial’s wheels made it impossible for him to take the impact of Terryman’s Calf Branding technique, and Max Radial gained the advantage and dealt Terryman a major blow with his Drift Tackle technique.

While most of the Perfect Large Numbers were ready to call the fight there, Strong the Budo reminded them that it wasn’t the way of the Perfect Chojin to underestimate their opponent. Sure enough, Terryman got back up, but the damage from Max Radial’s Drift Tackle still left him in dire straits, and Max Radial had no intention of letting up. As all that played out, the final scene changed places to agyudonrestaurant where it was revealed thatKinnikuman had gone to Earth to help in the battle against the Perfect Large Numbers.
Kinnikuman Does a Perfect Job Of Selling Its New Villains
So far,Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcis doing a perfect job selling its villains. It’s one thing for the Perfect Large Numbers to be as intimidating as they are, butMax Radial so effortlessly dominating Terryman in their fight was a great way of selling the threat level of the Perfect Large Numbers, as it makes it clear that they have plenty of power to complement their strong personalities. Just from episode #2, the Perfect Large Numbers are poised to be great villains, and it will be great to watch how that plays out.
Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc’s First Fight Starts Nearly Flawlessly
Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcepisode #2 is the first real fight of the anime, and it’s already a great one. Between the gorgeous artwork and the stellar animation and direction, including the anime doing everything possible to frame things like a real wrestling match,Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcepisode #2 did an excellent job of making its first big fight look as great as possible. Episode #2 sets the standard for what to expect out of the fights in the series, and that standard is a great one to see.
If there was one shortcoming with episode #2, it’s that it cut out a few moments between Terryman and his girlfriend, Natsuko. Natsuko’s relevance gradually waned over the years, so it makes sense for the anime to cut her out, but considering how said moments were her only appearances in the revival series,Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arccutting out Natsuko is a disappointing turn for older fans oftheKinnikumanfranchise. The positives ofKinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcepisode #2 outweigh that one negative, though, and there’s still plenty of reason to keep watching the series, from here on out.

Be sure to watchKinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arcepisode #3 when it releases on Monday, July 29.
