Can The Frasier Reboot Season 2 Really Be As Good As The Original Show?
Grammer Is Leaning On Nostalgia By Bringing In Frasier Legacy Characters In Season 2
While theFrasierreboot did okay in its first season, its quality was very far from what its predecessor was able to achieve in its debut year.
Grammer was the primary force behind revivingFrasier. While David Hyde Pierce has always been against the idea, his on-screen brother was convinced that there’s more to do with the snooty therapist after seeing theinitial success of theRoseannerevivalon ABC. Although theFrasierreboot season 1’s reviews were divisive, there was clear potential in the show if they tweaked some of its elements. All those changes may have been done for season 2, hence Grammer’s comment. Still, it’s a tall claim that they can match the quality of the Seattle show.

The originalFrasiernabbed 37 Primetime Emmys and was a ratings winner for NBC. It’s regarded as one of the best comedies of all time, with its writing and cast performance always cited. While theFrasierreboot did okay in its first season, its quality was very far from what its predecessor was able to achieve in its debut year. Perhaps Grammer is confident abouttheFrasierreboot season 2being able to recapture the magic of its prequel because of the sheer number of legacy characters appearing since they were all fan favorites.
I’m Sorry Sam & Diane, But The Frasier Reboot Season 2 Will Continue Its Cheers Ignorance
Based on how the Frasier reboot season 2 is shaping, Sam and Diane’s cameos will likely have to wait as it continues its Cheers disrespect.
While there is no doubt that Grammer and his team could make the revival better in its second season, it’s difficult to imagine that it will overall be as good as the mainFrasierseries unless they totally overhaul the series. The original show was such a special project, that it may be impossible to recapture its magic in its entirety. Certain aspects of the reboot are just not working, includingFrasier’s professorship stint at Harvard, which doesn’t really do anything to his overall growth as a person.
