How to Use Smartmockups on Canva
The instructions below work the exact same whether you’re using the desktop version orCanva’s user-friendly mobile app.

Starting on Canva’s main page, click onAppsin the left-hand toolbar and selectSmartmockupsunderRecommended. From there, you can browse through the mockup selection which is categorized by type, or you can search for something specific you have in mind. For this example, we are going to search for posters.
Once you find a mockup you want to use, click on it and clickSelecton the next page. If you have an upload or design already in Canva that you want to use, you may find it in the pop-up already loaded. If you want to upload an image from your computer, click onUpload.
Click on the image you want to add to the mockup, then clickSelect. Canva will add it to the available space. To edit the image, clickAdjust Imageon the right. Make any needed adjustments. ClickSave. When you’re done, selectSave Mockup.
From here, you’ll have two options. You can eitherDownloadthe image if you’re happy with it, or you can selectUse in a Designto edit the mockup even further.
If you click Use in a Design, the two images will become one as it opens up in Canva’s editor. From there, you can cut, add text, or include other graphics to help make your design stand out.
When you’re done, go toSharein the upper right-hand corner and choose how you want to share your Smartmockup with the world.
What if You’re Already Working on a Design?
Unfortunately, Smartmockups cannot be found from within the Canva editor, but you do have options. you’re able to start on Canva’s main page, follow the above directions, download your mockup, and then upload it to the design you’re currently working on.
Or, you can simplyuse one of Canva’s many design apps, one of them being a mockup app. In the Canva editor, select theApptab in the left-hand toolbar, typeMockupsin the search bar, then click on theMockupapp icon.
From there, you can browse through all the mockup templates that Canva has to offer. Click the one you like and it will appear on the canvas. Go to theUploadstab and find the image you want to add to the mockup image. Move the image over the blank space of the mockup and Canva will seamlessly add it to the image.
If you need to edit the image, click onEditin the canvas’s toolbar and modify the mockup to your liking. When you’re done, select theSharebutton and save your mockup.
