The Yaoguai Uses Both Subterfuge & Brutal Strikes
One of the Tiger Vanguard’smain battle gimmicks is his ability to turn to stone. When this occurs, do not attack him as your hits will either do no damage, or will completely bounce off, leaving you open to a punishing counter. In general, you want to take things slow inBlack Myth: Wukongand either not strike at all, or stop your combo to avoid danger.
He can also use this power to make a stone decoy. While it initially looks like the Tiger Vanguard, it is simply a distraction. The boss will have teleported somewhere else in the arena and will soon charge at you. Look around quickly and dodge out of the path.

Besides his stone mechanic, Tiger Vanguard also fights with both his fists and a sword on his back. The punches tend to be fast, delivered in a quick two-hit combo, which is a common attack throughoutBlack Myth: Wukong. His sword strikes are more telegraphed, with typically three slashes with a medium pause between each swing. This makes it important to always be ready to move out of the way anddon’t get greedy with your own attacks.
If you are at a far enough distance, Tiger Vanguard has two other options. He might swing his sword and launch a wind projectile. Alternatively, he may pounce and try and crash down on you. Neither attack will happen if you fight close enough to the boss.

YouTuberONGBALfought against the Tiger Vanguard head on. They fully used their expert dodging to avoid all attacks, leading to no serious damage. They attacked when there were openings and didn’t try to mash when the boss made its own assault. Still, if it is your first time, this is unlikely to occur.
Wukong’s Countermeasures

Regardless, you will not only need the basic dodge but also utilizeCloud Stepto get around the more tricky attacks. Even thoughblocking exists in Black Myth: Wukong, it won’t be very effective.
Immobilizeis also a good move to use against Tiger Vanguard. This will freeze him in place and allow you to get in a fast and strong combo. However, this move doesn’t reset animations inBlack Myth: Wukong. This means you need to first move out of the way if Tiger Vanguard is in the middle of a sword swing, or you will take damage when he reanimates.
Getting hit too many times is likely the end of your current boss attempt, like with most fights inBlack Myth: Wukong. While you might have some space toheal with a strong gourd, especially when Tiger Vanguard is Frozen or in stone form, it is much better to evade entirely. You should expect to challenge this boss at least 10 times to simply learn its attack pattern and acquire the muscle memory to dodge. Depending on your reaction time, it might take even more attempts. But, eventually, you’ll be able to dance around Tiger Vanguard and come out of the battle unharmed.
