What This Means For Frankenstein’s Release Date

Frankenstein Could Come Sooner Rather Than Later

Del Toro seems intentionally vague when it comes to how he talks aboutFrankenstein. Even thepresentation of the news itself was cryptic, as he said that “F” has finished filming, rather than even the full name of the movie. This style aligns with how otherFrankensteininformation has been revealed thus far, as del Toro has not offered his full plans. An early set photo of Isaac did suggest that itwould be set in the same period of the book, but how closely it will adhere to the novel remains to be seen.

As of now,Frankensteinstill does not have a specific release date. It is expected to come in 2025, but has not even had a release month window revealed yet. With the news the film hasfinishing filming, however, it is possible that it could arrive sooner rather than later into next year. The movie will still need some time to complete post-production, but its swift progress on filming is nonetheless a good sign for the release date.

Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Is Not The Only Frankenstein-Based Adaptation Coming Soon

Maggie Gyllenhaal Is Working On The Bride

As a huge fan ofGuillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, I could not be more excited about seeing the director adapt another classic story. But even more exciting is the fact that next year will see not one,but two interpretations ofFrankenstein-based stories. In addition to del Toro’s version, Maggie Gyllenhaal is also helmingan adaptation calledThe Bridethat is set for release next year. Her version stars Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s Monster and Jessie Buckley as The Bride of Frankenstein. The team behind del Toro’sFrankensteinwill likely attempt to release this movieseveral months separate fromThe Bride.
