Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), Lucius (Paul Mescal), Macrinus (Denzel Washington), and Marcus Asacius (Pedro Pascal) are positioned to the left of the frame. Emperor Geta, played by Joseph Quinn, is positioned and looking off to the right, offset from the position of the other characters. The Posters May Reveal Things About Each Character
While theGladiator 2posters are fairly simple, small details about them suggest certain plot elements. For example, both Pascal and Washington are facing towards the right but looking off to the left. This could imply that the intentions of the two characters are muddied, or that their motivations come in somewhat mixed directions. As a result, this fact hints at tensions between Lucius, Macrinus, and the other main characters. Marcus Asacius' confusing intentions could result in a tragic ultimate battle between him and Lucius.
The new look at the Emperors also alludes to how these characters will act. Both Geta and Caracalla look crazed in their images, with a kind of fervor in their eyes that suggests they have intense drive. TheGladiator 2traileralso shows looks at Emperor Geta and Emperor Caracalla, revealing the actors in similarly unhinged states. The full extent of their roles has not yet been revealed, but the character posters are nonetheless another fascinating tease about these figures.
