Summary
Fairy Tail, one of thebiggest shōnen anime from the 2010s, has been spectacularly revived, returning after five long years with its sequel series,100 Years Quest,which finally aired its first episode last week. Episode #2 ofFairy Tail: 100 Years Questwill be releasedon Crunchyroll and Netflix on Sunday, August 08, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Japanese Standard Time (JST), which is 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time(EDT), 4:00 a.m. Central Time (CDT), and 2:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PDT). For fans ofFairy Tail: 100 Years Questin the UK, the episode will be released at 10:00 a.m. British Summer Time (BST). The release date for the dubbed version of the episode has not been revealed as of yet.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Questis listed for 25 episodes. The first episode adapted exactly the first three chapters of the manga excluding the prologue, which means if the anime keeps up the current pace, this season will likely easily cover the first two arcs of the manga and then some of the third arc.
What Happened In Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode #1?
The First Episode Perfectly Sets Up the Team’s New Adventure
Episode #1 ofFairy Tail: 100 Years Questbegins with a teasing glimpse at Elefseria making the decision to form the first guild after which the episode cuts to the belovedFairy Tailguild, where fans are reintroduced to several cherished characters, including Master Makarov, Mira, Levy, Laxus, and many more. The guild is seen welcoming new recruits, two of which are scared away, leaving Touka a woman who claims she is in love with Natsu and has joined the guild because of him.
Touka immediately butts heads with Juvia and, despite their very similar personalities, the two hilariously fail to get along. That said, Touka piques Gajeel’s interest when she mentions Briar, a member of Avatar, a guild that worshipped Zeref. Thus Gajeel and Pantheer Lily go undercover and follow Touka hoping to find out more about her.
Meanwhile, Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, Happy, and Carla head to the continent of Guiltina as part of the titular 100 year quest. Upon reaching the first and oldest guild, Magia Dragon, where they meet Elefseria, the Law Dragon who, like Acnologia, was originally a dragon slayer who turned into a dragon. Elefseria explains the danger involved in the quest and that it has gotten its name because no one has been able to complete the quest for a century.
Elefseria explains that the quest involves finding and sealing five dragons who are so powerful that they have been dubbed God Dragons. Many have lost their lives on this quest or sustained lasting injuries like Gildarts but after hearing it was Natsu who defeated Acnologia, Elefseria is convinced that if this group cannot complete the quest then no one can. Thus Natsu and friends set off to find the first God Dragon and arrive at Elmina, where the Water God Dragon can be seen ominously watching the group from atop a distant rooftop as they enter.
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode #2 Will Explore the Town of Elmina
Episode #2 ofFairy Tail: 100 Years Questwill likely see Natsu and the others explore the town of Elmina, its interesting people, and the secret behind its algae-covered appearance. In classicFairyTailfashion, of course, the group will end up causing a ruckus and getting into a fight or two, and as such, their stay is sure to be far from peaceful.
The upcoming episode is also likely to introduce the interesting new character of Kiria who will dial up the fighting and action while also revealing a shocking new evolution in the Dragon Slayer system, setting up Natsu to be tested yet again. Episode two will also most likely exploreFairy Tail’s new mysterious member, Touka, who grows increasingly suspicious with every appearance. All in all, episode #2 ofFairy Tail: 100 Years Questis sure to be exciting and packed to the brim with plenty of action, gags, and shocking revelations.
