Meicoomon was the key to this plan, as she was the carrier of a powerful virus that would erase humans. The DigiDestined, aided momentarily by the neutral force of Homeostasis, fought against the King of the Digital World and attempted to save Meicoomon from her tragic fate. All this occurred while the heroes struggled to keep their new friends from suffering even further, all because of the whims of a cruel machine.

A Bittersweet Goodbye
Five years after the battle against Meicoomon and King Drasil, Matt and Tai are desperate to find their way in life. As expected, fate is not on their side, as a new threat to the Digital World known as Eosmon has been spotted abducting DigiDestined across the world and rendering them unconscious. During their investigations, the heroes meet a woman named Meona, who claims she wants to help them unravel the mystery.
She also explains that since the bond between a Digimon and its partner is fueled by the potential of a child, this link will break as the heroes mature. Regardless of their dread at the idea of losing their friends, Tai and his friends are forced to run, as Eosmon and its mysterious tamer are hunting them one by one. The ending of the film is hopeful but saddening beyond belief, and fans who have not seen it will truly enjoy the experience.

Once Eosmon was defeated, theAdventure 02DigiDestined came across a man named Lui, who claimed to be the first-ever chosen child. His former partner, a kind but naïve Digimon named Ukkomon, used his wish-granting powers to make everyone treat him with kindness.
These wishes caused instability between the Digital and human worlds, forcing more children to become DigiDestined and fight against the evil creatures trying to conquer both. After their disastrous fallout, Ukkomon became determined to make his friend happy by becoming a massive DigiEgg and forcing every human to bond with a Digimon.

The 25th anniversary short video,Digimon Adventure -BEYOND-, will continue the story sometime after the ending ofAdventure 02’s movie. Lamentably, once this final adventure becomes available, explaining the many mysteries left behind by the video, Tai and his friend will officially say goodbye to the franchise.
