Copilot itself is a powerful tool, but what if you could use plugins to make it more useful?
Similar to how ChatGPT previously introduced plugins to boost its functionality, Microsoft Copilot now features several plugins that significantly increase what you can do with the tool.
What Are Microsoft Copilot Plugins?
Microsoft Copilot plugins connect Copilot with other apps and services, allowing users to find flights and products, create music, and order groceries.
For each conversation, you can enable up to three plugins other than Search. The Search plugin connects Copilot with the web, so it’s enabled by default and is essential for other plugins to function.
To enable other plugins, you’ll have to first log in to Microsoft Copilot. In the top-right corner, you’ll seePlugins(beside Chats). From here, you can toggle on the plugins you wish to use.
If you’re using Copilot on Microsoft Edge, click theCopilot buttonand then thefour squares iconto access plugins. On the Copilot mobile app, you can access this option from thethree-dots iconin the top-right corner.
Once you’ve enabled the plugins, Copilot will automatically use them when answering relevant queries. When it does, you’ll seeUsing:[plugin icon]above the response. But in case it doesn’t, you can specifically ask it to use a certain plugin.
What Are the Best Copilot Plugins?
At the time of writing, seven plugins are available to Copilot users, and we’ve covered the best four you should start using.
Klarna is a Buy Now, Pay Later service with thousands of partner merchants. This gives it access to tons of information about various products and their prices. So, with this plugin enabled, you can search for different products and compare the prices. With each product recommendation, Copilot adds a link to Klarna’s website, from where you can purchase the product.
In case you’re wondering,Klarna is safe to use. However, the plugin is only available in the US. Other users can enable the Shop plugin, which, like Klarna, suggests various products and lets you purchase them.
If you’re planning a vacation, Kayak can help you find affordable flights, lodging, and rental cars. Better still, it can recommend tourist destinations you’re able to visit without exceeding your budget.
3.OpenTable
OpenTable’s Copilot plugin can help you find and reserve tables at popular restaurants. After enabling this plugin, you can ask Copilot to suggest restaurants near you. Copilot then uses the plugin to provide recommendations and adds a link to OpenTable’s website to reserve your table.
4. InstaCart
If you’re preparing the food yourself, you can use the InstaCart plugin to get recipe suggestions, know what ingredients you’ll need, and order them from different retailers via InstaCart.
