Summary
Wesley Snipes’Bladereturn inDeadpool & Wolverinewas quite a shock for a few reasons, and I believe he could come back to theMarvel Cinematic Universeand fulfill a line from the movie. By coming back as Blade as one ofDeadpool & Wolverine’s surprise stars, Snipes has now taken a major record for himself. The actor has passed Hugh Jackman to becomethe longest-running star to play a Marvel character in live-action, with nearly 26 years as Eric Brooks, aka Blade, against Jackman’s 24 years as Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverinebrought back several actors from past Marvel movies, with names like Chris Evans' Johnny Storm and Dafne Keen’s X-23 joining Snipes in his Blade return. So far, there has been no confirmation that the actor will play Blade againinfuture MCU movies. However, fans have been asking for more, andRyan Reynolds even suggested a new Blade movie with Snipes, going for aLogan-like send-off for the character. I loved to see Snipes come back, as I enjoyed his Blade trilogy, but I have to say I was quite surprised to see him and Reynolds together.

How Each Marvel Legacy Hero From Deadpool & Wolverine Could Return In The MCU
Deadpool & Wolverine featured multiple legacy Marvel heroes, and all of the exciting surprise stars could return to the MCU in different ways.
I Was Shocked To See Wesley Snipes Return As Blade After Ryan Reynolds Feud
The Marvel Actors Share A Complicated History
The most shocking factor of Snipes' Blade return was that it happened inDeadpool & Wolverineof all movies. That is because Snipes and Reynolds have long been rumored to not like each other due toa negative work experience on the set of 2004’sBlade: Trinity. Before giving life to Deadpool in the Fox Marvel universe, Reynolds played Hannibal King in Snipes' final Blade solo movie. Multiple accounts from the troubled movie’s production mention how Snipes would remain in character as Blade when cameras were not rolling, communicating only in notes signed by “Blade.”
[Ryan] Reynolds viewed his personality as the polar opposite of [Wesley] Snipes'.

Speaking toIGNin 2004, Reynolds revealed his point of view on the feud. According to the actor, he never really met Snipes, only Blade, as the actor goes full method. Reynolds viewed his personality as the polar opposite of Snipes', claiming he never made the Blade actor laugh during filming. The star also confirmed the on-set tension by sayinghe improvised a moment where Reynolds' character says Blade hates him, with the actor explaining, “I’m just saying this about my relationship as Ryan Reynolds to this guy.” I’m surprised thatDeadpool & Wolverinerevealed that the feud is over.
Ryan Reynolds & Wesley Snipes Had A Legendary Feud On The Set Of This Forgotten Marvel Movie
Blade: Trinity had an infamous production, marked by several feuds including one between Reynolds and Snipes that has finally been addressed.
Deadpool & Wolverine Showed That Ryan Reynolds And Wesley Snipes Can Work Great Together (& I Want More)
The Duo Could Work Together Again In The MCU
Despite whatever issues they may have had in the past, I was happy to see thatReynolds and Snipes are now on good termsand that they can work together again. Blade was great inDeadpool & Wolverine, with the same cool attitude, one-liners, and violent action scenes that were common in Snipes' Blade trilogy. Blade’s “tough guy” attitude paired off well with Reynolds' over-the-top Deadpool, and I would love to see more of the duo in the MCU. In fact, there is already the perfect project for that to happen.
I thinkAvengers: Secret Warsis the ideal movie to have Snipes return as Blade. The project is based on a major Marvel Comics event that saw several different versions of heroes and villains appear. As such, many multiverse characters are bound to show up in the MCU movie.Deadpool & Wolverine’s endinghad the TVA save the remaining members of the Resistance from the Void. While the fate of Snipes' Blade was not shown, I’m sure he will still be kicking around in his universe pre-Secret Wars, and Blade teaming up with Deadpool one more time is possible.

I Know How Marvel Can Fix Its Troubled Blade Movie After Deadpool & Wolverine
Mahershala Ali’s Blade movie has had many issues over five years, but instead of being canceled, there are exciting ways Marvel could rework the film.
I Know How Wesley Snipes Can Be The One And Only Blade
Marvel Studios Could Pay Off Blade’s Iconic Deadpool & Wolverine Line
Deadpool & Wolverinehas given Snipes' Blade a new iconic line, with the character saying,“There’s only been one Blade. There’s only ever gonna be one Blade.“The movie was poking fun at the fact that Mahershala Ali is going to play the character in a Blade reboot in the MCU and also that the film is taking forever to get going. However, I’m convinced there is a way to pay off that line and make Snipes the one and only Blade of the MCU in a way.
Based on the troubled production of Ali’s Blade reboot, I think Marvel might be better off delaying the film until after the end of the Multiverse Saga. Snipes' Blade could appear in one or both of the upcoming Avengers movies, making sure a version of Blade appears.Reportedly, the MCU will be rebooted afterAvengers: Secret Wars. If Ali’s Blade movie were to be released afterAvengers: Secret Wars, then it could take place in that new MCU, making Wesley Snipes’Bladethe one and only of the current MCU.
