Zatanna Ditches the Justice League for Las Vegas in New 17+ Solo Series
This Summer, Zatanna will receiver her own Black Label book as she trades in the Justice League for a magical stage act in Las Vegas.
Variant Cover by Joëlle Jones
John Constantine and Zatannahave had a complicated relationship in DC’s comics, both in continuity and out of it. During a seance, Constantine knowingly put Zatanna’s father in danger, and he was killed. Despite this, Zatanna remained on friendly terms with John — untilthe New 52 rebooted the DC Universe, and Zee was suddenly far less fond of him. In the Vertigo universe, Zatanna made sparse appearances, but every time she did it revolved around John, such as attending his 40th birthday party. While Zatanna was still on good terms with John, she made it clear they’d never be in a physical relationship again.
Zatanna falling back in with Constantine is something that could very easily make her situation far worse.

What makesZatanna seeking solace in John so dangerous, even in this outside-traditional-continuity Black Label series, is how it’s never worked out for anyone who’s gotten close to John. John’s list of dead ex-girlfriends is longer than the number of girlfriends most people have had. John will sacrifice anything or anyone if he views it as serving the greater good, which is exactly what he did when he indirectly caused the death of Zatanna’s father, Giovanni. Zatanna falling back in with Constantine is something that could very easily make her situation far worse.
