This latest cancellation comes on the heels ofResident Alien’s move to USA Network, which drastically reduced the network’s original scripted output. Meanwhile,Chuckyseason 4’s potential renewal remains in a state of undetermined limbo.

Reginald the Vampire’s season 2 closer, which is now the series finale, does provide some resolution. But it also ends on something of a cliffhanger, with one of the main characters coming to the shocking realization that they are now a vampire as well. But with the show’s cancellation, in any case, only a few Syfy Originals remain. One of those isChuckyseason 4, which aired its finale in May, and also airs on the USA Network, which is possible as they both are owned by NBCUniversal. Revival
Recently announced new series.
This corporate synergy has helpedResident Alienseason 4, which moved from Syfy to USA Network. It could be the case thatChuckyseason 4 moves to USA, as well, particularly given the franchise’s longevity and the show’s positive reviews. However, that has yet to be determined. Other thanChucky, the only other Syfy scripted programs that remain on the slate are the Canadian co-productionSurrealEstateandThe Arkseason 2, which debuts July 17.
There is also the recently announced horror dramaRevival, based on the comic book of the same name by writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton. The show tells the story of what happens after the recently deceased start rising from their graves in Wisconsin. Whether that means, like USA, Syfy will recommit to scripted programming afterlosingReginald the Vampireremains to be seen.
