Summary
After hearing that adamantium will be introduced to theMCUinCaptain America: Brave New World, I’m convinced that Sam Wilson will be getting a major power upgrade in the Phase 5 movie.Captain America: Brave New Worldwill mark Anthony Mackie’s theatrical debut as the Star-Spangled Man-with-a-Plan, taking over from Chris Evans' Steve Rogers. As well as developing Sam Wilson’s story, and reintroducing the likes of Thaddeus Ross, Samuel Sterns and Joaquín Torres, I can’t wait forCaptain America: Brave New Worldto introduce adamantiumto the MCU.
Thefirst teaser trailer forCaptain America: Brave New Worldconfirmed that the statue of the Celestial Tiamut fromEternalswould be revisited in the upcoming movie. New footage revealed to the Hall H audience at this year’sSan Diego Comic-Conrevealed thatTiamut would actually be a source of adamantium in the MCU, a metal closely connected to characters such as Wolverine, Bullseye and X-23, among others. We’ve already seenadamantium inDeadpool & Wolverine, butBrave New Worldwill bring the metal into the MCU’s primary continuity.

I Think Sam Wilson Will Get An Adamantium Captain America Costume In The MCU’s Phase 5
The confirmation that adamantium would finally be making its way into the MCU inCaptain America: Brave New Worldhas made me think that Sam Wilson will be gifted a Captain America costume built from the metal. There is a huge amount of precedence for this to happen, asThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierended with Sam Wilson being gifted avibranium Captain America costume, designed and built by the Wakandans.Wakandans lace vibranium into their clothes, and create superhero suits from the resource, so adamantium can surely be used in the same way.
I loved Sam Wilson’s white-and-blue vibranium costume at the end ofThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It was very comic-accurate, and wildly different from Steve Rogers' classic blue looks, perfectly separating Sam from his predecessor, while obviously continuing Steve Rogers' legacy. Because of this, I was a little disappointed to see that Sam Wilson will get anew, blue costume inCaptain America: Brave New World. However,I could probably forgive this costume change if the new suit is made of adamantium, as this would be a huge upgrade for the new Captain America.

Adamantium May Be Stronger Than Vibranium In The MCU
Generally, in Marvel Comics and Marvel’s live-action history, vibranium has been considered to be far stronger and more versatile than adamantium. Vibranium has been used to create some of the most formidable tools and weapons in Marvel’s history, and it can also be woven into clothing, can be ingested, and can expel kinetic energy and repel ballistic attacks by absorbing vibration. However, the dispute overwhether vibranium or adamantium is strongermay be flipped inCaptain America: Brave New World, simply because of the MCU’s adamantium source.
In Marvel Comics, adamantium is a metal alloy originally created by Dr. Myron MacLain during WWII, but in the MCU, adamantium comes from the Celestial Tiamut. It’s unclear whether all Celestials are made of adamantium, or if Tiamut is the only source of the metal, having been transformed by Sersi and the Eternals' Uni-Mind. Nevertheless, adamantium’s roots with theCelestials and Eternals in the MCUmake me convinced it will be far stronger than vibranium, which means the power levels of the franchise could soon significantly change.

Marvel Finally Answers The Big Question About The Giant Celestial In The Ocean 3 Years Later
Captain America: Brave New World’s first teaser trailer has confirmed that Marvel Studios will finally be addressing a huge three-year-old mystery.
Sam Wilson’s Adamantium Costume Would Make Him Incredibly Powerful
Ever since Sam Wilson was gifted the Captain America mantle and shield bySteve Rogers at the end ofAvengers: Endgame, the question has been raised as to whether he will take the super-soldier serum to become as physically powerful as his predecessor.Sam Wilson currently has no innate superhuman abilities, but I think this point will be made moot inCaptain America: Brave New World, if Sam gets an adamantium Captain America costume. Donning a suit of armor comprised of this Celestial metal would make Sam Wilson one of the MCU’s strongest heroes.
Think about it -Tony Stark became one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU because of his suits of armor, so the same could be done for Sam Wilson. This would be a huge change from his Marvel Comics history, but would be a great way to debut adamantium in the MCU, especially afterDeadpool & Wolverinegave a tease of how strong the metal can be. I’m incredibly excited forCaptain America: Brave New Worldto introduce adamantium, especially if it means giving Sam Wilson this much-deserved upgrade.
