Instead of doing the one thing that might actually make the Vision Pro more popular—dropping the ridiculous $3,499 retail price—Apple is bringing the less-than-stellar Apple Intelligence to the headset.
Apple Intelligence Will Officially Arrive With visionOS 2.4
Apple Intelligence was added in the first beta version of visionOS 2.4 that just arrived for developers. It will officially arrive to the public sometime in April.
The beta version for the Vision Pro includes familiar features like Writing Tools that can rewrite, proofread, and summarize text. Also included is Genmoji, which allows you to create custom emoji, and Image Playground to create images with a simple text prompt. you may also talk to ChatGPT through Siri.

All the features have been previously available on the iPhone, with the vast majorityarriving in iOS 18.2 that landed in December 2024.
Apple also added a standalone Vision Pro iPhone app with iOS 18.4, which is also in beta testing. With the app, you’re able to manage guest accounts and browse visionOS content like TV shows and movies. You can also transfer that content directly to the Vision Pro.

A Combination That No One Asked For
After its release in early 2024, the Vision Pro has gotten an icy-cold reception. While the technology is great, the retail price has put it out of the reach of most consumers. Developers flocked to the platform before its release, but have mostly abandoned it after the poor sales numbers.
While I enjoyed a Vision Pro demo at my local Apple Store, there is no way I would pay that much for what the device provides. But Apple seems to be playing the long game, eventually hoping to release a lower-cost version.

Apple Intelligence has also had its fair share of issues. While I’ve enjoyed ChatGPT integration, the image apps have been a bust. That’s not even mentioning the problematicnotification summaries partially disabled for some apps in iOS 18.3.
Even though a few Vision Pro buyers might be happy to see Apple Intelligence support, it does nothing to solve the long-term problems of both.
