After years in Early Access on PC, Larian’s RPG had a full release last year and was extremely well received, going on to win many Game of the Year awards. One of the characters whose fates are in players' hands is Arabella, an Asmodeus tiefling who is fairly central to the events of the game’s Druid storyline. 21-year-old RedditorFridaAihtook to the r/BaldursGate3 Subreddit to share theirextremely faithful cosplay of Arabellaas they can be seen in an environment set up to resemble the camp in the game and another out in nature with trees surrounding them.
As well as faithfully recreating Arabella’s attire, FridaAih’s cosplay uses a mixture of fabric sleeves and tights along with facial make-up to adapt Arabella’s purple skin and prosthetic horns and ears to complete the halfling look. FridaAih’s expressions also recreate the character’s youthful sense of mischief, truly bringing Arabella to life.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Steal The Druid Idol In Emerald Grove
To steal the Idol of Silvanus, players must seek Mol to activate the quest, stop the Ritual of Thorns, and finally orchestrate a strategic heist.
Arabella’s Storyline Can Play Out Differently Depending On Players' Choices
Arabella Can Become A Useful Ally In The Third Act
Arabella can be a recurring presence inBaldur’s Gate 3’s Druid storyline, depending on players' choices. Arabella is introduced at the Emerald Grove, in the Druid Grove, in Act 1. Here, she is beingheld prisoner by Kagha and her snake, Teela, for attempting to steal the Idol of Silvanus, and players can seal her fate at this early stage, depending on whether they save her or not. If they do manage to free her, players will run into Arabella in Act 2 and can invite her to their camp as the player searches for her parents.
If Kagha does kill Arabella, either the players or Arabella’s parents can avenge her.
It’s clear that while she may not have as large of a role in the overall game, Arabella’s arc is extremely well written, handling topics such as grief - which is fairly commonplace in a game likeBaldur’s Gate 3- as she grapples with the dormant druidic powers she acquired from touching the aforementioned Idol of Silvanus. This power escalates as Arabella deals with some tragedies later in the game, and she is even able to wield the shadowcurse. If players have made the right choices throughout her storyline and have kept her alive,Arabella can berecruited as an ally in the third actof the game, where she can fully utilize these abilities.
For such a relatively small side quest, Arabella’s storyline inBaldur’s Gate 3can leave a lasting impact on those who have played through the whole thing, and the character can make going for a fully evil playthrough somewhat challenging, considering some of the darker choices that need to be made. Therefore, it’s no surprise that cosplayers such as FridaAih would want to faithfully bring the tiefling to life.
